Coffee Machine Error Codes
Before you act on a code: the same number means different things on different models. Check it against your manual, and if it returns after a reset, note it down and call us rather than clearing it repeatedly.

Getting the most from a code
- Write down the exact code before clearing it
- Note what the machine was doing when it appeared
- Record whether it clears on restart, and how long before it returns
- Have your model number ready - usually under the drip tray
A cold cup, a scaled thermoblock or a temperature setting nudged in the menu. Three of the four causes you can check yourself in ten minutes.
Codes to stop for immediately
- Anything that trips a breaker or earth leakage
- Boiler level or low-water faults on commercial machines
- Repeated heating faults after a descale
- Any code alongside a burning smell
Clearing a code doesn’t fix what caused it. Repeated resets turn repairable faults into replacements.
